Title: Making Up
Fandom: Rizzoli & Isles
Jane stood outside of Patrick’s hospital room, a bouquet of yellow roses in her hands. She wasn’t even sure what she was doing here. The last time she saw Maura, things weren’t exactly happy, and now Jane would give anything to take it all back.
The door swung open and soon Jane was standing in front of her best friend, or at least she hoped it was still that way.
“What are you doing here?” Maura asked tiredly, her eyes red from the tears she had been crying.
“I came to apologize. I’m sorry for what Dean did, for what I did. If I could take it all back, I would in a heartbeat,” Jane said, looking at the sadness that filled the medical examiner’s eyes. “I never wanted any of that to happen.”
Maura nodded her head, knowing that Jane meant all she said. She could always tell when Jane was being truthful.
“Are those for him?” the caramel blonde asked, noting the flowers that Jane still had in her hands.
“They’re for you, actually,” Jane said as she shyly handed the flowers to Maura. She watched as a small smile formed on Maura’s face as she raised the flowers to her face to smell them.
“Thank you,” Maura said quietly, smiling slightly at Jane.
“Can we still be friends?”.
Jane regretted the question almost as soon as she said it. Why would Maura still want to be friends with her after what had happened. She wouldn’t even want to be friends with someone like her.
“I think we can do that,” Maura agreed, her smile growing a little bigger. Jane let out her breath as she pulled Maura into a hug
“He’s going to be alright,” Jane promised. If Maura could continue on with their friendship, then anything was possible.
